And as the celebrity fighter prepares for a shot at champ Tom ‘Kong’ Watson, he’s revealed that his toughest opponent won’t be facing him from across the cage; it’ll be a personal battle with his own demons.
SAN JOSE, CALIF. (Aug. 21, 2010) – The STRIKEFORCE men’s and women’s Welterweight World Champions Nick Diaz (170-pounds) and Sarah Kaufman (135-pounds) will return to the cage on Saturday, Oct. 9 at HP Pavilion in San Jose, LIVE on SHOWTIME® (10 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast).
BAMMA middleweight champion Tom Watson says he’s being urged by fans to smash reality-TV show star and title challenger Alex Reid on BAMMA 4. “Members of the public came to me and said they really want to see him get beaten up,” says Tom, who is currently in an intensive training camp in the MMA hotbed of Montreal, Canada. “I feel I’m being employed by the public to shut him up!” Watson faces Alex Reid on September 25th on BAMMA 4, to be held at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham. But the Southampton native isn’t fazed by reports that Alex is training harder than ever for this fight.
