i do belive no lies have ever been said, we just tell it like it is, u just cant hang with our in your face style.
pal i might not be able to run up a flight of stairs, but i can break 6 boards with a single strike

"Boards don't hit back"

You've got to be a troll, no one talks like that!

Back on topic, anyone that studies Bjj will know the skill and dedication it takes to become a purple belt. To dismiss it as a beginner belt shows a lack of understanding of Bjj on your Senseis behalf in my opinion. Rob was only asking for validation of his qualifications, a question that anyone starting at your club will probably want to know and a perfectly reasonable one. It could have been answered in 1 sentence, I'm a Huh?? belt under Professor Huh?? easy enough.
As I say this is only my opinion

Awesome! I mean I go away for a few hours and all this unfolds before I log on again. Brilliant, better than watching Britain's Got Talent.

How about: Britain's Got a Bunch of Deluded Untalented TMAers.

Rob, surely you are making all this up, it can't be true. In this day and age, that a person really did just post bragging he can break six boards. LOL! Cheesy

But seriously. It is absolutely a right to ask questions about the legitimacy of one's background. Whether done by email, on a forum, in person, whatever. The instructor has chosen to respond but in a very aggressive and defensive manner. This immediately arouses suspicions.

Why isn't plainly obvious, that if you advertise that you teach BJJ (or any other specialist skill), then the very minimum one should expect is that the instructor has direct experience of training in that skill - even at a basic level. This may very well still be the case here, but somehow, his defensive stance (and those of his deluded henchmen posting on this forum) suggests otherwise.

I'm sure these guys take their training seriously, and train hard, but the ignorance shown towards an art they claim to teach is breathtaking.

They clearly have no idea about BJJ, how long it takes to progress and that you can't just buy your way up the ranks.

Words fail me...

I see Rob has posted up on Bullshido:
http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=85586

IT's 10:30 at the moment, no response from the Bridlington boys, must be too busy with their BJJ training. Wink

Popped sensei a message earlier....
Just another example that he has no clue. i would like to send a reply but ive been blocked again for some reason. does he mean hes been teaching bjj 38 years??? lol. he even did the whole get my name wrong to wind me up.

From Me :
Hi Stuart, you may wish to look at this thread. As a student, competitor and part of the bjj community, we feel strongly againest people that have no credentials, teaching bjj for monetary gain.

From Stuart Hicken :
hi kevin i dont even know what your on about mate every one in our club has all they need to teach what we do this has all come about from someone sticking thier nose into something they dont even know about we have a good club and been training for over 38 years so whats your point

Bekz - the whole point is that BJJ is advertised as being taught at the club, but there appears to be no-one qualified to teach it.

I doubt anyone on here could give two hoots about Karate and the other TMAs on offer (though I suspect there may be a bit more interest in the pole-dancing!)

How can it be a typo to type "Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu"? What was/is it meant to be?
