Since we've been repeatedly miss-quoted and since nobody has bothered to check back into the previos posts, I have again, come out of not wanting to post, but here's the skinny....Kieran wrote

I'm Kieran Hicken from the Bridlington Club. I wont be reading all of this nonsense but i'm going to clear things up for everyone regarding the initial question.
Their has been alot of confusion from our club members who dont really know anything about BJJ, they are majorly Shotokan students, some of them have done other disciplines for shorter periods of time in the past. They are just trying to defend their club from all of these blind accusations.
Neither me nor my father have ever graded in BJJ, although i am VERY interested in learning it and have a big respect for the discipline. Stuart Hicken trains and teaches in traditional Shotokan Karate and was graded to 3rd dan black belt by the KUGB over 25 years ago.
Al Docherty had arranged with us to start a BJJ class on a Saturday morning at our dojo. Al trained at the Rickson Gracie School and was graded in 2001 i think to Blue belt by Mauricio Gomes. I'm not sure what grade he is now, but with that being 8 years ago, i imagine he's gained a few grades since then.
The BJJ classes didnt end up happening as Al had an operation on his knee and has been in a wheel chair since whilst he heals. Although once he is better we will be starting the classes.
You are giving unnecessary grief to my Father and Sister which does anger me, however i will not lower myself to the trolls.
Bekz runs the Facebook group from her own obligation. She did not know what STAV or BJJ was and got them confused when updating the Facebook group, as she is a brown belt in Shotokan, thats about as far as her martial arts knowledge goes. Although she has been experimenting lately with Judo and Grappling. You can understand her frustration and why she would try to defend something she loves.
My Father is new to the internet and i agree can come accross rude, but that is not his intentions. He is dyslexic and has enough trouble trying to write/type as it is. He is a very good hearted, intelligent person and an excellent instructor, although this doesnt reflect well on here due to this so please stop now. This is why he asked Bekz to give his telephone number and address so anybody who really wanted answers could have contacted him by telephone or by visiting in person if it ment so much. Nobody has attempted either option as of yet, what a surprise.
Once again here are the details if anybody does want to contact us:
The Martial Arts & Fitness Center
Unit 5 Pinfold Lane
Bridlington

Call Stu on 07730562913 to request a membership form or for more information.
I've watched some competition videos from 1 or 2 of you on youtube, i wont say any names as im not here to cause conflict. I will say that i would be very happy to fight any one of you in competition in whichever style you want. If you would like to arrange this then it can be done with the info i have just given you.
I hope this matter is now resloved, i will not be making any more comments on this forum.
Regards,
Kieran Hicken
And to clarify what he means, and yes I can speak for him as I know from training tonight he is willing "to compete in ANY style you wish" Obviously he would need to look into your rules for BJJ, but he STILL is willing to have a friendly in your own style, issued his number, and gu7ess what guys?? Nobody has phoned as of yet!! Now rather than bitching when everything has been said and done, why not club together for some balls and ring him, or rather ring the school like you should have done in the first place instead of splashing all this shite all over your web site in a crummy attempt to make yourselves look cleverer and respectful as you claim!!
It's an honest challenge, meant in no malice, and offers the respect for you even though you've shown no respect for us!!

Is this still going??? Give it up, he's just arguing in circles
Also if Kieran was serious about fighting anyone in any style that's the most foolish challenge ever made. Tell him to go to walk into any gym in Rio, with his BJJ Gi and Karate Black belt and see what happens if he wants a 'challenge'.

brilliant thread - caught this from cage warriors
why is it so difficult to a) just say who you got your grades from - dead easy for anyone from ANY mertial art
b) fucking hilarious that the whole school (and owner come on spewing jumbled facts and fiction) and then issuing challenges in an art then have no knowledge of
seriously a challenge in BJJ is one thing, agreeing to an MMA fight could get you seriously hurt....
brilliant reading though - a bit bit sad for the students - "no such thing as bad students, just bad instructors"

This thread has seriously dented my productivity over the last few days, but its been worth it.
Some unbelievably stupid and ignorant remarks from Kenny and his buddys. Kieran seems a bit more clued up and respectfull but from memory hasnt verified his mma record. If he is serious about a challenge match surely this should be made available? the guys who have accepted have provided theirs

LOL! Highlights are a good idea, I can't wade through 35 pages again, but it's all gold! My favourites are:

for some reason, I Kenny's shocking knowledge of amoebae hilarious:

Wow, I guess the last two comments made are from two halves of an amoeba (oh wait, that would be two identical parts, so just one shared brain!)
and this one is obvious, but still great:

LMAO this thread left me in tears last night.
On a serious note, these guys will be beaten just like the gracies beat up the other martial arts.
Now it's our time to take that role!

Don't think of it as losing think of it as being beaten by a girl!
A woman's place is on the mat
Sometimes, it would be nice for a guy to sweep me off my feet without them getting 2 points for the takedown;)

Let this message be offical and totally on record:
I Barry Mairs, Blue Belt under Pedro Bessa, set a challenge to Kieran Hicken to fight me in a Mixed Martial Arts fight, under the offical rules of the Navada State Athletic Commision for a Professional MMA Contest.
The fight can take place anywhere of your choosing, may it be an Open fight were public may attend or Closed were we shall fight with only our corners present.
There will be no money prizes, the winner shall take the losers Belt.
And so you know my backround is Boxing and Muay Thai. This is my MMA record:
http://www.mmauniverse.com/fighters/SS29139
You issued the challenge so you respond to me through a PM on here.
KENNY EITHER PUT UP OR SHUT THE F**K UP!!!
